A well-established consultancy is looking for a talented Building Surveyor to join its dynamic Northern team, based in either Newcastle or Leeds. The role offers flexible hybrid working alongside the opportunity to work on a broad range of commercial and public-sector projects across the UK.
About the Role
Due to increasing workload, this role will involve working closely with an experienced building surveying team on varied and engaging assignments. You'll be involved in both professional and project work, supporting clients with expert advice from initial survey through to contract administration.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct measured surveys and prepare floor plans, elevations, and technical details using AutoCAD (AutoCAD proficiency is essential).
Carry out condition surveys, schedules of condition, and detailed defect diagnosis inspections.
Undertake design work, produce statutory consent applications, tender documentation, and administer contracts through project lifecycles.
Diagnose building defects and develop practical solutions, including providing budget estimates and programme advice.
Prepare planned preventative maintenance reports with elemental costings.
(Desirable) Contribute to CDM services including preparation of pre-construction information and health and safety files.
What We're Looking For
Degree in Building Surveying (RICS-accredited) or working towards completion.
Demonstrable experience in a building surveying consultancy environment.
Strong technical knowledge of building refurbishment, alteration, and pathology.
Proficient in AutoCAD and measured surveys.
Excellent communication, report-writing, and client-facing skills.
Ambition to develop professionally, with support for APC and career progression.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
