Job Description
Hyperion Partners are working with a well-regarded London housing association to recruit a skilled Building Surveyor with specialist expertise in damp and mould diagnosis and resolution.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be carrying out inspections, identifying root causes, producing detailed reports, and ensuring remedial works are delivered to the highest standard – helping residents live in safe, healthy homes.
The Role
You will:
* Carry out property inspections focused on identifying damp, mould, and condensation issues.
* Diagnose causes using a combination of visual inspection, moisture mapping, and building pathology.
* Prepare clear, detailed reports with recommendations for remedial action.
* Liaise with contractors to ensure works are completed to specification and within agreed timescales.
* Manage the full survey process from inspection through to completion sign-off.
* Provide expert advice to internal teams and residents on damp prevention and maintenance.
* Maintain accurate records on the housing management system and ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies.
About You
* Proven experience in building surveying within the housing sector.
* Strong knowledge of damp and mould diagnostics, building defects, and remedial methods.
* Excellent report writing and specification drafting skills.
* Confident working independently and managing multiple cases at once.
* Good communication skills with residents, contractors, and colleagues.
