Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Building Surveyor to join our team. The role involves providing expert advice on building design, maintenance, compliance, and repair, ensuring that properties meet statutory standards and are safe, functional, and well-maintained. You will work across a range of projects, liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct surveys and inspections of residential, commercial, and public buildings to assess condition, defects, and compliance with regulations
• Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and cost estimates for repairs, maintenance, or refurbishment projects
• Provide advice on statutory compliance, building regulations, and health and safety requirements
• Oversee and monitor construction, refurbishment, and repair works, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications
• Liaise with contractors, clients, architects, and other stakeholders to manage projects efficiently
• Manage maintenance programs, budgets, and service contracts for buildings under your responsibility
• Investigate and provide solutions for building defects, disrepair claims, and structural issues
• Keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulations, and best practices in building surveying
About You
• Qualified Building Surveyor (e.g., RICS or equivalent) with experience in residential, commercial, or public sector surveying
• Strong knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and statutory regulations
• Proven experience in building inspections, project management, and defect investigation
• Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Proactive, solution-focused, and detail-oriented
