Bus Network Liaison Manager £46,889 per annum - Grade 8 Leeds / Hybrid Full time / Permanent - 37 hours per week Closing date – 17 May at 23:55 Please note that the Combined Authority will consider requests for part-time working and/or job share. We currently have a vacancy for a Bus Network Liaison Manager to join our Mobility Services Team. This is a brand new role, created to support the work of the Combined Authority on the West Yorkshire bus network. Our new Bus Network Liaison Manager will sit within the Transport Services directorate initially but will need to work closely with colleagues in the Bus Reform and Communications Teams in order to be an advocate and represent the voice of the Combined Authority and the mayor. Taking on a prominent role at meetings with politicians and in public meetings in relation to bus services and the bus network across West Yorkshire, you will have a real opportunity to shape and build strong stakeholder working relationships. This will also include taking a lead on responding to enquiries about the bus network, by bringing together colleagues from across the Combined Authority as required and supporting the work of the mayor’s office. The Role Reporting into the Head of Mobility Services, your key responsibilities will include: · Provide strategic leadership and delivery of the mayor’s vision and ambition for transport engagement with stakeholders, particularly in the context of bus services in West Yorkshire. · To lead and be a visible point of contact for proactive responses to stakeholder, issues and opportunities within the bus network. · Working with senior officers, politicians and the mayor within Transport Services, manage and deliver successful stakeholder engagement relating to the Combined Authority’s tendered bus service contracts. This will include the transition to, and future operation of, the franchised bus network. Please review the Role Profile on our website for more information about the responsibilities. About You You will have the following key skills, attributes, education, and experience: · Experience in developing and successfully implementing stakeholder engagement plans incorporating communities and a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior managers and politicians. · Experience of dealing professionally with the public and the ability to create constructive dialogue and engagement with all audiences (including politicians, public and private sector stakeholders, community groups, transport experts etc), with the ability to prevent / resolve conflicts in a calm and coordinated manner. · Proven ability to work and multi-task under pressure, respond quickly to changing situations in complex operational and project environments, prepare responses/narrative quickly and clearly, and use personal initiative. · Strong understanding of how bus networks and systems are configured and operated. · Good knowledge of West Yorkshire including its geography, governance structures, partner organisations and communities.
