You will be based within the estate directorate that has group wide responsibility for property, maintenance, facilities management, sustainability, travel, health & safety, business continuity and incident management.
Role Summary
The Business Continuity Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing plans for the Group to ensure the continuity of operations in the event of business disruption. The role requires expertise in risk management, business impact analysis, disaster recovery and emergency incident planning. The coordinator will lead the development of plans, coordinate testing and training and review/update plans to ensure the group is prepared for any potential disruption, whilst maintaining day to day operational effectiveness.
Role Responsibilities and Duties
* Develop and maintain business continuity and emergency incident plans
* Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses.
* Coordinate and collaborate with individual campus departments, Principals and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure comprehensive business continuity plans and strategies.
* Regularly update and review business continuity policies and procedures.
* Organise and conduct training workshops for staff on business continuity and incident management.
* Test and evaluate the effectiveness of business continuity and incident management plans
* Ensure compliance with any local and statutory requirements
* Facilitate communications during business disruptions and emergencies
* On request from campus incident management team, assist in the response and recovery period following an incident.
* Document and report on continuity exercises and incidents.
* Work closely with ITSS to ensure data backup and recovery processes are in place.
* Maintain a database of critical business functions and contact information.
* Maintain knowledge of any developments in business continuity and emergency planning standards. Devise strategies and practices to ensure compliance and present these for approval to the Group.
* To attend and contribute to the Group Health and Safety Committee, writing and presenting reports on business continuity and incident management as required.
* As required, attend campus Health & Safety Forums to update on business continuity and incident management planning.
Qualifications and attainments
* Degree or professional qualification in business administration, risk management planning, or related area.
* Minimum of 2 -3 years of experience in business continuity and incident management or related role.
Experience and knowledge
* Knowledge of business continuity and incident management recovery principles
* Understanding of risk assessment and business impact analysis and methodologies
* Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g. Civil Contingencies Act, Prevent Duty)
* Project management experience
* Experience in conducting training and awareness programs
