Salary: £30k to £35k plus commission
Reporting to: Head of Business Development
Working Closely With: Marketing Campaign Manager & Business Development Team
Role Overview
My client is seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Executive to play a key role in progressing marketing and self-generated interest into commercial opportunity.
Working in lockstep with our Marketing Campaign Manager, this role is responsible for turning Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) through personalised, outbound engagement—most critically, telephone-based outreach.
This is a hands-on business development role with a clear focus on building qualified pipeline, scheduling meetings, and supporting revenue growth across our three core service lines:
Key Responsibilities
* ABM Outreach: Use a focused Account-Based Marketing (ABM) approach to engage the Company’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) from our prospect list (Researching, understanding, connecting, building relationships with key targets).
* Lead Generation: The “first-personal” impression of the Company, the role requires a self-starter with an ability to run with enquires and small tenders independently, network at events, engage on LinkedIn etc.
* Lead Conversion: Engage and qualify leads (MQLs) from digital campaigns, LinkedIn, and events, converting them into SQLs for handover to the Business Development Managers
* Meeting Scheduling: Book and manage discovery meetings for BDMs, acting as the first point of contact in the engagement journey.
* Sales Support: Provide sales support across all three service lines, including lead follow-up, note-taking during discovery calls, and CRM updates.
* Telephone &/or Outbound Activity: A minimum of 60% of working time must be dedicated to outbound activity to engage prospects and drive pipeline progression.
* CRM Management: Maintain accurate and timely records in Dynamics CRM to track engagement and lead status. This role is a dedicated resource to oversee Sales activity ensuring full recording within all Sales & Marketing platforms.
* Reporting: Own reporting on lead progression and meeting success rates in coordination with the Marketing Campaign Manager.
* Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to surface opportunities for other services.
Skills & Experience
* 2–4 years in a business development, inside sales, or outbound sales role, ideally in a B2B service or consultancy environment
* Comfortable and confident in outbound telephone work and direct prospect engagement
* Familiarity with CRM tools (preferably Microsoft Dynamics) and structured sales pipelines
* Experience working in an ABM-based model is highly desirable
* Clear communicator, commercially aware, and highly organised
* Comfortable operating in a hybrid model and collaborating across multiple departments
