External Business Development - Dudley - Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £44,000 per annum
Benefits: Company car & mobile phone | 20 days holiday (rising to 25 after 3 years) |
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm | Friday 8:00am–4:30pm
About the Role
A leading manufacturing business is looking for a proactive and strategic External Business Development Executive to drive growth across the UK manufacturing sector. This is more than a sales role - it’s an opportunity to identify, secure, and nurture new partnerships nationwide while having direct influence on the business’s growth.
Key Responsibilities

National Outreach: Travel across the UK to identify and engage new clients within the manufacturing sector.
*
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain long-term partnerships with engineers, buyers, and key decision-makers in SMEs and large corporations.
*
Autonomous Scheduling: Take ownership of your diary and appointments, managing your own working week.
*
Strategic Communication: Present services confidently to both technical and commercial audiences.
*
Insightful Reporting: Produce detailed visit reports to inform business strategy and enhance client engagement.
What We’re Looking For
*
Proven experience selling to engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication companies.
*
Knowledge of the steel industry and ability to read technical drawings is highly desirable.
*
Confident with digital tools for managing appointments and reporting.
*
Full, clean UK driving licence.
*
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently reporting directly to senior leadership.
