An established and growing packaging manufacturer is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support continued growth across the UK market may that be nationally or regionally targeting particular markets such as: Animal Feed, Aggregates, Horticulture.
Specialising in innovative protective and flexible packaging solutions, the business supplies a wide range of industrial sectors with high-quality packaging products and tailored customer solutions. 🔍 The Role
This is a field-based sales position focused on driving new business opportunities, developing existing customer relationships, and identifying long-term growth across industrial and manufacturing markets throughout the UK.
You will manage your own territory autonomously, delivering consultative and solution-led sales support while acting as a key commercial representative for the business.
💼 Key Responsibilities
• Drive new business development and revenue growth across the UK
• Identify, target, and secure new customers through proactive field sales activity
• Manage and grow existing customer relationships and accounts
• Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and product discussions
• Deliver tailored packaging solutions aligned to customer requirements
• Manage pricing discussions, quotations, negotiations, and sales pipelines
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reporting
• Represent the business at industry exhibitions and networking events
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and delivery
👤 About You
• Proven B2B sales experience within packaging, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
• Strong track record of developing new business and achieving sales targets
• Experience managing a field-based sales territory independently
• Commercially aware with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
• Technically minded with the ability to understand customer requirements and production processes
• Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working autonomously
• Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK
Packaging industry experience would be highly advantageous, particularly within flexible or protective packaging solutions.
