Job Description

Mpeople Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Business Development Manager (Logistics / Freight Industry) to cover the Manchester area, on behalf of our well-established and reputable client. * Location: Field sales covering the Manchester/Lancashire region, including working from home and/or the Northern office base would be Rochdale. * Hours of work: 8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday * Salary / package: In the region of £50,000 per annum, plus bonus/commission paid quarterly. Plus company car or car allowance. Duties will cover: * Management and development of a defined customer portfolio * Establishment and expansion of the strategic network with partners, associations, and other players * Design and implementation of new strategies in marketing and sales * Making forecasts of future trends and developments * Knowledge transfer to the organization * Monitoring and reporting * Market and competitor analysis * Presence at trade fairs and conferences The desired qualifications, skill-set and experience: * Commercial & financial acumen * Influence and impact people across all levels in the Organisation. * Effective communicator with individuals in all functions within the business written and oral * Active listening skills * Ability to manage teams * Able to work under pressure where needed. * Demonstrated sales success and knowledge of sales concepts, methods and techniques. * Demonstrated success in developing sales plans, analysing profitability of prospects, and the ability to understand the competitive influences and risks associated with individual accounts. * Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments. * Good time management techniques * Able to use MS office, PowerPoint, Excel and other PC applications. * Proven “business-to-business” sales experience in the Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry * Minimum of 2 years within a sales role * Project Management skills and experience Benefits: * Employee Assistance Programme - helping you deal with personal problems that might adversely impact your work performance, health and wellbeing * Employee discounts – with access from day one to a multitude of discounts for holidays, high street fashion, supermarkets, gym memberships, insurance, and so much more * Pension – an efficient and flexible pension plan that you pay into based on your pensionable salary and your level of contribution.
