Now we’re looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to proactively deliver new business growth through relationship management, expanding opportunities, and strategic stakeholder engagement. This role requires a resilient, commercially minded individual who thrives on building trusted relationships, identifying opportunities, and confidently closing deals that deliver long-term value for the business. Responsibilities: * Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within target markets and sectors. * Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and maximise value. * Develop and maintain a robust, qualified pipeline of opportunities, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective progression through the sales cycle. * Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, estimations, and technical departments, to shape compelling proposals and winning strategies. * Lead and coordinate responses to tenders, bids, and RFPs, ensuring submissions meet client needs and reflect company capabilities. * Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new areas of opportunity. * Confidently negotiate and close contracts that are commercially sound, ensuring risk is managed and profitability maintained. * Report regularly on sales performance, opportunity status, and strategic account development plans. Skills Required: * Proven track record of winning and developing new business in a B2B environment. * Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills at all organisational levels. * Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. * Resilient, driven, and results-focused with the ability to thrive under pressure. * Strategic thinker who can balance long-term goals with immediate priorities. * Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively. * Working knowledge of Utility Connections and the building industry. * Ability to engage in formal and informal settings with stakeholders. Additional: * Degree-level educational background or relevant commercial experience in similar environments. * Career background in sales of utility connections. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Excel, Word) and CRM systems (Salesforce). * Full UK driving licence.
