Business Development Manager
Location: Remote
Base Salary: £60,000 – £70,000
Commission: 3% on gross margin for each project sold (subject to meeting targets)
About the Role
As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you’ll play a key role in driving business growth. Working as part of a Pre-Construction team, you’ll build strong client relationships, identify and secure new opportunities, and help deliver utility connection solutions that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships: Engage with developers, consultants, and contractors through meetings, calls, site visits, and regular follow-ups.

Identify and secure opportunities: Use market insights to develop sales strategies and win new business across electricity, gas, and water sectors.
*
Collaborate internally: Work closely with estimating, tender, and design teams to shape competitive proposals and ensure client requirements are met.
*
Manage your pipeline: Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, track performance metrics, and provide regular progress reports.
*
Represent the business: Attend industry events, networking sessions, and client presentations to promote capabilities and build future business.
About You
We’re looking for a motivated and commercially minded individual with:

A proven track record in B2B sales or business development (essential)
*
Experience in the utilities, new connections, or infrastructure sector (highly desirable)
*
Knowledge of electricity, gas, water, or renewable/EV infrastructure connections (desirable)
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
*
A self-motivated, target-driven approach and the ability to work independently
