Job Description

I am currently working in collaboration with a long-standing client. They are a well-established, medium-sized commercial cleaning company operating across the UK. While their core focus is on corporate office cleaning, they also provide expert services to retail, industrial, and healthcare environments. They are a family-run business, committed to being a caring and fair employer, fostering a supportive culture where their people feel valued and respected. With a diverse business portfolio, they specialise in managing large-scale key accounts, including some of the UK’s most recognisable household names. Their reputation is built on reliability, professionalism, and long-term client relationships. Currently they are looking to recruit a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to play a key role in driving their ambitious growth strategy of 15% year-on-year. This is a pivotal role within the business, and with that in mind they are looking at this appointment as a long-term investment. You will be supported financially i.e. your salary will be topped up, whilst your pipeline develops, which you will be given time to grow. The primary focus of the role will be to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within their key account segment. These opportunities are likely to be in the property management and facilities companies sector. This is not a new sector for them and they have some excellent existing contracts that are excellent reference points. You will be targeting contracts ranging from £200,000 to £1.5 million, with an annual sales target of £1 million. The client can be flexible on where the BDM is located but ideally, they would like them to reside south of Oxford. Key Responsibilities * Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with their strategic growth goals. * Build and nurture strong relationships with prospective clients, focusing on long-term partnerships. * Develop tailored proposals and presentations to win high-value contracts. * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and delivery for new clients. * Maintain a robust pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasting and reporting. What we are looking for * Proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within facilities management or a closely related sector. * Experience managing high-value B2B sales cycles. * Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills. * Self-motivated, target-driven, and confident in engaging with senior stakeholders. * Possess excellent networking and relationship building skills. * Excellent communication and presentation abilities. * Experience using ACT CRM. * Have a stable career history. * Possess a UK driving license. A laptop and IT equipment and a company car/fuel card is provided.
