Job Description

Talent STEM are supporting a rapidly growing cleantech company pioneering a transformative approach to decarbonising the concrete and cement industry. Based in the East Midlands with hybrid flexibility, this role offers the chance to scale an innovative low-carbon solution from pilot through to commercial deployment across Europe's largest manufacturers. About the role You'll own the commercial strategy and execution for converting strong market interest into pilot programmes and long-term partnerships. This means building relationships across cement producers, ready-mix operators, precast suppliers, and major construction groups—then shepherding opportunities from first conversation through negotiation and contract close. Your day-to-day will blend relationship management with rigorous commercial discipline. You'll work with the technical team to shape trial outcomes into commercial cases, prepare detailed proposals and economic models tailored to each customer's priorities, and maintain a healthy pipeline with disciplined forecasting. Beyond the desk, you'll represent the company at industry events and collaborate on funded innovation projects. What you'll be doing: - Building and nurturing a qualified pipeline across the cement, concrete, and construction supply chain. - Managing the full cycle from initial prospect engagement through to multi-year commercial agreements. - Partnering with technical colleagues to design trials that unlock commercial wins. - Creating compelling customer proposals backed by solid unit economics and CO₂ impact data. - Maintaining CRM discipline, monthly KPI tracking, and accurate sales forecasting. - Attending key industry forums and trade shows. - Feeding customer and market intelligence back into product and pricing strategy. About you You're a confident, commercially minded professional with genuine experience closing substantial B2B deals in industrial or manufacturing settings. You thrive in growth-stage businesses where you wear multiple hats, and you're equally comfortable discussing technical specs with plant managers as you are negotiating commercial terms with procurement teams. You'll have: - 5+ years' proven success in B2B sales or business development, ideally within cement, concrete, precast, or construction materials. - A track record of landing and scaling high-value deals (£500k+) from initial pitch to signed contract. - Strong commercial acumen.  - The ability to engage confidently with both technical and commercial stakeholders across a customer organisation. - A structured approach to pipeline management, forecasting, and deal reviews. - Appetite for travel across the UK and wider Europe. It would be great if you also had: - An existing network within UK or European cement and concrete sectors. - Exposure to licensing agreements, partnerships, or channel distribution models. - Knowledge of climate tech, carbon capture, or sustainable materials innovation. - Fluency in a second European language (German, French, or Spanish). What you'll get - Competitive base salary with performance bonus and equity participation. - Private healthcare and pension scheme. - Meals and refreshments provided at the East Midlands facility. - The chance to join a business scaling a technology with genuine climate impact at a pivotal growth stage. How to apply Interested candidates should submit their CV and a covering letter (no more than one page) outlining relevant experience in B2B sales or business development within industrial or construction-related sectors. Please send your application to (url removed) with the job title in the subject line. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
