About the Role As Business Finance Controller, you’ll be at the heart of the UK & Ireland operations combining hands-on financial control with strategic leadership. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to provide clear financial insight, shape commercial decisions and lead the planning and reporting processes that drive business performance. You’ll be a trusted advisor to the senior management team, as Business Finance Controller you will be overseeing both the UK finance function and an overseas shared services team. In this key leadership role, you’ll ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement within a truly global, matrix environment. Operate confidently in a matrix environment, building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across departments and regions. In this pivotal role, as Business Finance Controller * Strategic Finance Act as a key business partner to the Country Director and senior management team, supporting both strategy and operations and contributing to overall business direction. * Reporting & Analysis Take full responsibility for the finance function. Drive accurate finance reporting and variance analysis across the business and being involved in the business performance reviews delivering clear insights into performance and opportunities. * Budgeting and Forecasting Drive the preparation of financial plans, future business estimates, budgets and overall financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business targets and guidelines. * Leadership and Development Lead, manage, and coach the finance team, with direct UK responsibility and overseeing of an overseas finance team ensuring strong collaboration and clear communication. * Business Partner Provide analyse and understanding to internal stakeholders and budget holders. Understanding the key drivers of the business including manage labour time and cost drivers, bringing a commercial mindset to service performance. * Operational Continuous Improvements Champion process improvements and enhance efficiency, control and quality across finance and operations. * Compliance In line with group policies, statutory requirements and audit processes. Ideally, you will: * Be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA). * Have strong hands-on finance experience in a service-based environment, ideally within a global organisation. * Understand labour time, utilisation, and cost control in a commercial context. * Have worked as part of a senior management team, contributing to both strategy and day-to-day decision-making. * Be just as comfortable rolling up your sleeves on the detail as you are influencing stakeholders at board level. * Be highly analytical, with advanced Excel and system skills (SAP, Hyperion, or Oracle preferred). * Possess excellent people management skills leading, developing, and motivating finance teams. * Have strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights. * Be customer-focused, delivering a high-quality service to internal stakeholders with accuracy and professionalism.
