Business Lecturer – Temporary –13hrs per week – Broxbourne £28.58 or £30.70 per hour We are recruiting a temporary Business Lecturer to work at Hertford Regional College to help deliver an outstanding learner experience and be inspirational to students at their state-of-the-art facilities in Broxbourne. About The Role We are seeking an individual who is passionate and motivated about supporting our learners in developing their knowledge, practical skills and to deliver classes on a part-time basis at the Broxbourne Campus from October 2025. The contract will start as soon as Compliance is completed and will run for 6 weeks initially with the possibility of extension. As a Business Lecturer you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to students enrolled on AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) courses at Levels 2, 3, and 4. The postholder will contribute to curriculum development, student support, and continuous improvement of the accounting provision within the Business and Leisure Industries department. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging lessons across AAT Levels 2–4, ensuring alignment with AAT standards and college curriculum. * Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment materials. * Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of progress. * Support students in achieving their qualifications and progressing to further study or employment. * Contribute to the development and review of the AAT curriculum and resources. * Participate in internal and external verification processes. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AAT qualification changes and industry developments. * Attend team meetings, CPD sessions, and contribute to quality assurance activities. * Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learning. The hours will be Tuesday evening 5pm - 9.30pm (with breaks) Thursday 9am - 11am, 11.30am -1.30pm, 2.30pm -4.30pm and 5.30pm - 9.30pm (with breaks) About You You will display a passion for teaching and enjoy interacting and engaging with students. You will work collaboratively with colleagues whilst using your own initiative. You will have great interpersonal and organisation skills and ideally be able to demonstrate previous teaching and/or training experience as well as practical experience. You will possess * AAT Level 4 qualification or higher (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW). * Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one. * Experience teaching AAT or accounting subjects in a further education or training environment. * Strong communication and organisational skills. * Commitment to student success and inclusive education.
