Job Description

Ready to step beyond the farm gate? Perhaps you’re managing a successful farming operation, working in agronomy, crop nutrition, agricultural sales or crop inputs, but feel ready for something broader. Maybe you’re looking for an opportunity where you can combine your practical agricultural knowledge with commercial responsibility, customer relationships and business management within an ambitious, privately owned business. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Our client is a highly respected independent agricultural business with an outstanding reputation across the UK farming sector. As part of its continued investment and growth, the business is seeking to appoint a Business Manager – Agriculture & Crop Nutrition to work closely alongside the Managing Director in a varied, hands-on and highly influential role. This isn’t a desk-bound management position. One day you could be discussing crop nutrition programmes with farmers and growers. The next, supporting manufacturing operations, coordinating logistics, identifying commercial opportunities or helping develop and introduce new products to the market. No two days are the same. The Role Working across all areas of the business, you’ll become involved in: * Supporting the day-to-day management and development of the business. * Building long-term relationships with farmers, growers and agricultural customers. * Providing advice on fertiliser and crop nutrition solutions. * Identifying and developing new commercial opportunities. * Supporting manufacturing, production and logistics operations. * Assisting with business planning, operational efficiency and future growth. * Working collaboratively across a close-knit, experienced and passionate team. About You You’ll probably have: * A practical background within UK agriculture. * Experience in crop production, agronomy, fertilisers, crop nutrition or agricultural inputs. * A good understanding of modern farming systems. * Strong communication and relationship-building skills. * Commercial awareness and a proactive approach. * A willingness to roll your sleeves up and get involved wherever required. Just as importantly, you’ll have a genuine interest in learning and developing your knowledge. Our client continues to invest in laboratory services, crop science and product innovation, so we’re keen to identify someone who enjoys learning about new developments in crop nutrition, agricultural technology and scientific innovation, and who is excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of the business. Whether your background is farm management, agronomy, agricultural sales, crop inputs or a related sector, we’d be delighted to hear from you. The Opportunity This is an opportunity to join an ambitious independent business that continues to invest in innovation, manufacturing capability, laboratory services and the future of UK agriculture. Working directly alongside the Managing Director, you’ll gain exposure to every aspect of the business - from commercial development and customer relationships to operations, logistics, product development and strategic growth. For someone looking to broaden their career beyond the farm gate whilst remaining closely connected to farming and crop production, this represents an outstanding long-term opportunity. This is a business looking to invest in someone just as much as it’s looking for someone to invest in the business
