Business Support Officer – Safeguarding Services

Up to £23 per hour
This is an exceptionally high-priority position within a crucial frontline team. Due to an unprecedented influx of referrals, the current team requires immediate, robust business support. This role is funded by the Alliance to mitigate risk to vulnerable service users; without this post, the potential for serious risk, or even fatalities, increases. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the team can manage its caseload safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Support Officer will provide comprehensive and proactive support across the service, including:
* Administrative Excellence: Provide comprehensive business support, which may include: mailbox management, finance processing, inputting, storing and archiving of data, meeting arrangements, caseload management, and accurate note taking.
* IT & Data Management: Maintain local and corporate IT systems, spreadsheets, and databases to produce appropriate outputs, such as reports.
* Statutory Compliance: Update IT systems to ensure individual records are current with information required for statutory returns and local datasets, guaranteeing data is accurate, reliable, and up-to-date.
* Flexible Support: Work flexibly across the service, undertaking a range of activities to provide proactive support to front-line practitioners and service users.
* Workload Management: Manage a demanding workload in a responsive way to assist the Business Support Team Leader in meeting key objectives and external regulatory requirements.
* Process Delivery: Ensure the professional delivery of established business processes, such as effective database management, to support the organisation.
* Technology Adoption: Embrace new technology to support service users, ensuring the level of support offered is flexible and in line with Lambeth’s ways of working.
* Methodical Prioritisation: Work methodically to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.
* Innovation: Use innovative and imaginative thinking to improve service delivery and efficiency.
* Emergency Assistance: In an emergency situation, work can be quickly amended from Business As Usual (BAU) to assisting directly with the immediate situation that has arisen.
About You
* Proven experience in a fast-paced administrative or business support environment, preferably within the public sector or social care.
* Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
* High proficiency in IT systems, including databases (e.g., case management systems), spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
* A meticulous approach to data entry and record-keeping, understanding the necessity of data accuracy.
* The ability to work under pressure and respond swiftly to urgent service demands.
