Experienced Butcher Needed – Merthyr Tydfil
£12.40 to £16.64 per hour (depending on knife skills assessment) | Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Temporary to Permanent
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food production company seeking experienced butchers with strong meat processing and slaughter experience.
This is a great opportunity for candidates looking for a stable role with weekday hours and clear career progression.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience in butchery, slaughter, or meat processing is essential
Excellent knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts
Able to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
Valid driving licence and access to reliable transport (limited public transport)
Willing to complete a knife skills test during the recruitment process — pay rate will be determined based on performance
Role Overview:
Accurately processing meat products while maintaining high safety and hygiene standards
Working efficiently within a skilled team
Participating in training, including Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
