This is a 6-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of a subsequent permanent role.
Key Purpose of the Role:
As Buyer, you will be responsible ordering the right materials, at the right time, and at the right quality, while also maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to optimise cost, financial obligations, and cash flow. Your contributions will directly influence the company's operational success, and you’ll play an important part in our day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supplier Relationships & Performance:
Build and nurture strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure favourable trading conditions, profitability, and sustainability targets are met.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance quarterly to ensure OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) and OTIF-Q (On-Time, In-Full, and Quality) targets are consistently achieved.
* Forecasting & Demand Insights:
Gather demand insights from installations monthly and share supply forecasts with strategic partners to ensure accurate planning and timely delivery.
* Order Management:
Oversee daily release and maintenance of purchase orders, ensuring stock is managed within established parameters and demand fluctuations are addressed promptly.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with group sourcing to provide data for pricing trends, synergies, and the development of optimal trading conditions across business units.
* Participate in the Product Introduction and Product Offering (PIPO) process to ensure our product line remains current and aligned with both business objectives and customer preferences.
* Continuous Improvement:
Challenge current processes and collaborate cross-functionally to drive efficiency and continuous improvement within the supply chain and across the business.
* Data Accuracy & System Maintenance:
Maintain accurate information in the ERP and group sourcing systems, ensuring consistent and reliable reporting for decision-making.
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience in supply chain, procurement, or a similar role, ideally in the furniture or manufacturing sector.
* Strong knowledge of supply chain management, supplier relationship management, and cost control.
* Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and enhance performance.
* Solid understanding of ERP systems, forecasting methods, and supply chain data analysis.
* A proactive, solution-oriented approach with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
