Job Description

Buyer / Planner

  * Varied role as a Buyer that sits between materials planning and purchasing.

  * Global engineering business with a personable team that support one another.

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer who can support operations by planning materials within the business and supporting purchasing activities. Experience within an engineering or heavy / capital plant equipment environment would be ideal. This is a really varied Buyer position that involves using ERP / MRP systems and negotiating prices on various materials.

Salary & Package: c£33,000 as a guide + bonus 25 days holiday + banks. Wider development opportunities.

This Buyer job will suit:

  * Some purchasing / procurement experience, preferably within an engineering or industrial environment.

  * Organised individual with excellent communication skills.

  * Comfortable with IT packages, such as MS Office.

  * Ideally have some prior experience using MRP systems.

  * Purchasing and negotiating engineering materials from one or more vendors.

  * Review purchase requests for materials via the MRP system.

  * Plan & expedite the required materials to ensure production demands are met whilst maintaining inventory levels.

  * Building relationships with key suppliers.
