As we expand, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Buyer to join our procurement team.
Role Overview:
As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end procurement process. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. This role also plays a key part in sourcing for new projects and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage procurement activities from sourcing and negotiation to purchase order placement and supplier performance management.
Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to support new projects and NPI activities.
Engage with internal stakeholders to understand material and component requirements, ensuring alignment with project timelines and cost objectives.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to ensure optimal value for the business.
Monitor market trends and supply chain risks to proactively identify opportunities for cost reduction or supply improvement.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure ERP system is up to date.
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, contributing to operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with Group Procurement where appropriate to leverage group buying power and align with group strategy.
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in a procurement/purchasing role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience supporting NPI or project-based sourcing activity is desirable.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
CIPS qualification (or working towards) is an advantage
