Job Description
Buyer – Manufacturing
Our client is a family run Business within the Birmingham area that was established over 70 years ago. They produce metal pressings and welded assemblies for the automotive, domestic and yellow goods industries.
They are seeking a Buyer for Productive and non-productive items in order to support our busy manufacturing facility.
We are ideally seeking a candidate with previous experience within the manufacturing industry. CIPS Qualifications would be advantageous however qualifications can be obtained whist employed for the right candidate offering the opportunity of upskilling and growth within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Managing Suppliers
Obtaining best price (three quote rule)
Obtaining material steel deals for set periods
Schedule productive items
Ensuring effective communications with suppliers to ensure on time deliveries
Develop strong working partnerships with suppliers
Monitor & evaluate supplier performance
Monitor supplier inventory levels
Reduce Costs & Lead Times
Support production & NPI functions
Responsible for controlling stock
Knowledge of MRP SystemsBefore You Apply
