Buyer | Residential, Commercial, Education | Kent / SE London | Sept 2025
An opportunity for an experienced Construction Buyer to take responsibility for procurement across a diverse portfolio of residential, education, and commercial schemes, with a contractor known for lean management and direct delivery.
You'll work closely with the Managing Surveyor and delivery teams to manage materials and subcontract procurement, ensuring projects are supplied on time and to budget with the chance to be involved from tender stage through delivery.
The Role
•Buyer role working across residential, education, and commercial projects
•Procuring materials, plant, and subcontract packages
•Managing supplier relationships and negotiating best value
•Preparing and issuing enquiries, analysing returns, and placing orders
•Working with site teams to ensure timely delivery and cost control
•Supporting estimating and pre-construction teams with procurement input
What they're looking for
•5+ years' experience as a Buyer in a main contractor or developer environment
•Strong knowledge of material and subcontract procurement across residential and/or commercial projects
•Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
•Confident with Excel and procurement systems (no complex software required)
•Able to work independently within a lean, hands-on team structure
