Our client, a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of Stainless-Steel containment storage solutions is currently seeking a Buyer to join their team.
This is a full time, permanent position, based in Eye, Suffolk.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Personal Attributes:
* Proven work experience gained within a procurement role.
* A background in the procurement of indirect goods and services.
* An in-depth understanding of ERP system purchasing and inventory management.
* Ideally qualified to CIPS level 4 or above, or equivalent work experience in a related procurement role.
* Good administrative skills and a very high attention to detail.
* Computer proficient skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
* Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
* The ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times within a team environment.
* A strong work ethic with the ability to positively influence the behaviour of others.
* Strong teamwork skills with a focus on delivering excellent levels of customer service.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
* To provide procurement, commercial, and materials management support to the Company’s operational and other departmental teams.
* To develop and maintain robust relationships with the Company’s supply chain partners to meet and exceed the needs of the business.
* To drive continuous improvement activities through supply chain partners to support the delivery of the Company’s objectives for quality, cost, delivery, and inventory levels.
* To maintain the Company’s approved supplier database, and to carry out reviews to source alternative suppliers as required.
* To support the development and maintenance of the purchasing and supplier relationship modules within the Company’s ERP System.
* To develop and maintain, in conjunction with colleagues, stock control systems for assigned materials.
* To ensure adequate material stocks are held, to meet the needs of the business at minimum stocking cost.
* To investigate and resolve quality non-conformances as required, ensuring that an appropriate commercial resolution is achieved.
* To undertake commercial negotiations with assigned suppliers as required.
* To ensure suppliers consistently deliver on time in full, to allow the Company to efficiently meet its budget and monthly sales requirements.
* To support the development of Company procedures and processes associated with purchasing and receiving goods.
* To provide a service to the internal Sales team and other areas of the business.
* To liaise with departments on alternative supply specifications to ensure the best technical and commercial solution is identified.
* To provide assistance and cover for other members of the Procurement team for the purchasing of direct goods as required.
* Ensure that duties are carried out in line with all Company policies, procedures and processes.
* To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested.
* The Health & Safety of yourself and others in your area of control.
* To provide cover along with other members of the Procurement team for the Procurement Manager in their absence.
Supply chain management is a key feature of the Company’s procurement strategy, and the Buyer will play an integral role in ensuring quality, cost, delivery, and inventory levels are effectively managed for the purchasing of all indirect goods.

The scheme is a contributory scheme, with the employee contributing 4% of earnings and the Company contributing 4% of earnings. Company contributions increase to 6% after 5 years’ service and 7% after 10 years’ service.
