Buyer - Full Time / Permanent Location: Oxford (towards Kidlington) Reports to: Head of Purchasing Salary: up to 40k DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and commercially minded Buyer to join a growing team in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a supplier portfolio and contribute to the development of a dynamic product range that reflects market trends and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate trading agreements
Monitor product pricing and support promotional activity
Identify opportunities to improve profitability and expand supplier base
Attend trade shows and pitch new product ideas
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify trends
Lead category reviews and manage product performance
Handle new product enquiries and range development
Analyse data and provide actionable insights to improve results
Person Profile:
Self-starter with a proactive mindset
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Organised and detail-oriented with analytical ability
Comfortable working in a fast-moving and evolving environment
Confident in challenging ideas and driving improvements
Approachable and team-focusedExperience and Skills:
Previous experience in a purchasing or buying role
Proven negotiation skills with suppliers
Degree or CIPS qualification desirable
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quick to learn new systems
