Buyer – Packaging & Procurement

Riverside Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading beauty manufacturing organisation in Trowbridge with the recruitment of a Buyer to join their busy Procurement function on a maternity cover contract.

The Procurement Team is the engine room of the manufacturing process, strategically sourcing and managing packaging and essential components for high-volume production. This role is crucial for meeting high consumer demand and navigating intense competition while maintaining a competitive edge in the global market.

  * Location: Trowbridge

  * Contract: 6–9 Month Maternity Leave (Potential to extend and go permanent)

  * Salary: Equivalent to £40,000 per annum (Paid hourly at £17.79 via agency)

  * Hours: 43.25 paid hours per week

      * Mon–Thurs: 08:30–17:30 (45-minute break)

      * Fri: 08:30–15:45 (45-minute break)

Your Role

Reporting to the Buying Manager, you will be responsible for landing key cost incentives regarding packaging requirements for Beauty Brands. You will develop relationships with key suppliers, procure new partners, and ensure the supplier base remains low risk to the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Strategic Packaging Solutions: Deliver packaging solutions that align with strategic brand targets and commercial budgets.

  * Project Management (NPD): Create accurate and detailed packaging briefs for new product development (NPD) projects, ensuring they are actioned within KPI targets.

  * Negotiation & Sourcing: Lead negotiations on all material costs, lead times, and supply agreements to meet business needs.

  * Innovation: Identify new and innovative materials and investigate alternative manufacturing solutions to deliver cost, environmental, or quality benefits.

  * Supplier Management: Identify and risk assess suitable supply chain solutions and attend supplier meetings to provide detailed feedback.

  * Data Integrity & Reporting: Maintain accurate price books on Sage x3 and provide weekly project updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Role Requirements

  * Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.

  * Core Interests: A genuine interest in Procurement and Packaging for Beauty Brands.

  * Mindset: A commercially astute, ambitious individual who can bring fresh and innovative thinking.
