C&I Protection System Manager – Electrical Systems

We are now recruiting for the exciting role C&I Protection System Manager to be involved in delivering an industry leading, cutting edge design project for a new type of power station
Role Purpose
The Design Manager role will join a team of senior technical leads and C&I Engineers. The role will augment the current technical leadership with people leadership, supply chain management and project management skills. The role will cover the delivery lifecycle of the Protection System(s) spanning system architecture, sub-system design and equipment specification and design / selection to realise the final verified design of the power station. You will do this by working closely with the supply chain applying a structured approach to design governance. The role will manage and develop a team which collectively with you will ensure that RR SMR meets its responsibility as an intelligent customer.

In your first 6 months, you’ll:
Develop a robust delivery plan for the Protection System, identifying dependencies, team activities, and agreeing supply chain design processes.
Work with technical leads to produce system requirements, design plans, safety, audit, and assessment plans
Over the next 3 years, you’ll:
Build and grow a high-performing engineering team, through development and recruitment.
Deliver system specifications, system design, and all supporting documentation.
Manage a supply-chain-led design and manufacturing programme with a multi-million-pound budget.
Lead technical leads and engineers, ensuring the team has the capability to meet programme demands.
Collaborate across C&I system teams and other disciplines to deliver RPS System Specifications.
Pay and benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 (DOE) plus:
Bonus – Performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%
Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
Pension – 12% employer and 6% employee contributions
Holidays – 28 days (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
Private Medical Insurance – BUPA single cover healthcare
Life Assurance – 6x pensionable pay
£250 one-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
