Job Description
A leading independent connections provider (ICP) delivering high- and low-voltage electrical connections across the South East is looking to recruit an experienced Cable Jointer to join their team. The company, part of a growing utilities group, delivers new connections and network upgrades for residential, commercial, and renewable energy projects, maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and technical excellence.
Role
As a Cable Jointer, you will be responsible for carrying out jointing, termination, and testing of LV and HV electrical cables on a range of distribution and connection projects. Working as part of an experienced operations team, you’ll ensure that all works are completed to DNO and company standards while maintaining high safety and quality performance on site.
Responsibilities
• Carry out jointing, terminating, and testing on LV and HV networks (up to 33kV)
• Work on new connections, network alterations, and asset installations
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with DNO/IDNO specifications and safety standards
• Conduct pre-work site inspections and ensure compliance with permits and method statements
• Liaise with supervisors, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient delivery
• Maintain accurate records of works, materials, and testing documentation
Candidate Requirements
• Experienced Cable Jointer with LV and HV jointing authorisations (up to 11kV or 33kV)
• Proven background working for a DNO, IDNO, or ICP on new connections or network projects
• ECS/CSCS, NRSWA, and relevant authorisations (UKPN, WPD, SSE, etc.) preferred
• Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and distribution standards
• Full UK driving licenceBefore You Apply
