Job Description
HV Cable Jointer – 12 month contract – South of England – Outside IR35 – September start
Hunter Philips are partnered with a leading manufacturer who are looking for a HV Cable Jointer. You will be responsible for instillation, testing, commissioning and jointing on the underground networks.
Responsibilities:
* Instillation and refurbishment of HV equipment
* Carry out LV and HV cable jointing, terminating, and associated works on SSEN’s distribution network
* Undertake fault location, diagnosis, and repair of underground cable systems
* Work to SSEN’s safety rules, operational procedures, and quality standards.
* Prepare and maintain work sites, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
* Complete all work related documentation accurately and on time (job packs, permits, test records).
* Liaise with Senior Authorised Persons for permit to work and switching requirements.
* Operate plant and equipment relevant to cable jointing works.
* Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
Logistics:
* September start date
* All inclusive day rate, outside IR35
* Monday – Friday
* SSEN South
* 12 month contract
Requirements & certification:
* SSEN Authorised at 11kV. Authorisations at 33kV would be desirable
* Full UK drivers licence
* Solid understanding of Electrical Safety
* Strong understanding and experience working on distribution networks
* 2391 Testing and Termination
* 18th Edition
* IPAF
* CSCS Card
* IOSHBefore You Apply
