The role of the CAD Technician – Canopies & Roof Glazing Systems will involve:
* CAD Technician position dealing with a high quality range of canopies, walkways, roof glazing, rooflights, and brise soliel
* Attend and carry out site surveys across the UK, sometimes requiring an overnight stay subject to location
* Design and prepare detailed general arrangement drawings including plans, elevations and section drawings, and or scale drawings for complex projects, survey measurements, sketches, and specifications
* Interface with other departments to assist with the flow of work from sales, planning, factory, delivery and installation
* Utilising AutoCAD and Excel to prepare electronic fabrication drawings, cutting lists, material schedules/allocations, packing lists and paint schedules
* Prepare basic requirements on structural design for assessment by structural engineer
* Projects ranging in value from £6k up to £250k
The ideal applicant will be a CAD Technician – Canopies & Roof Glazing Systems with:
* Must have design experience within the construction / engineering market sector
* Ideally from the roofing, cladding, facades, structures, metalwork, building envelope, timber frame, modular building, steel frame, exteriors products market sector
* Must have 2D AutoCAD experience
* Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Able to problem solve and offer solutions
* High levels of attention to detail
* Hungry, approachable and strong planning skills
