The Company
Our Client is a leading heat network consultancy playing a leading role in the decarbonisation of
heat in the UK. They have established themselves as the leading experts on how to specify, design, deliver and operate low temperature heat networks. They provide end-to-end expertise in the development of district heating networks, from feasibility assessments to the detailed design of city-wide schemes.
The Position
* As the CAD Technician you will be responsible for creating 2D and 3D drawings based upon project specifications.
* Converting sketches, as-built records, and technical details into thorough and accurate digital drawings.
* Working closely with project engineers to develop detailed designs and schematics, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and adherence to project specifications, and company drafting standards.
* Working within the Building System Design department providing ad-hoc support to the Quality Assurance, Optimisation, Asset Management, Industry Standards and Delivery teams.
* Build up engineering and design expertise within the design departments, providing ad-hoc support where required and to supplement career development.
Your core activities will include:
* Convert as-built records into digital CAD drawings (2D layouts and schematics).
* Produce 2D layouts and schematics.
* Perform ad-hoc drafting of sectional drawings and 3D arrangements.
* Conduct ad-hoc visits to sites to support on drafting activities.
* Ensure standardisation and accuracy of all outputs, in line with industry standards.
The Person
As the CAD Technician it is essential that you have a strong technical understanding of relevant CAD software, understand engineering drawings, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
* Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant software packages.
* Understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation – i.e. schematics and layouts for district heating, communal heating, and hot water systems
* Understanding of drafting standards and procedures, and is a detail orientated individual who has the ability to maintain high CAD drafting standards.
* Effective communicator and collaborative individual who can work closely with the company’s design engineering team
* Strong organisation skills when delivering CAD outputs in line with agreed programme when working with design engineering teams
* Can ensure that document management processes and procedures are maintained.
