Job Description

Location: Harrogate Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday Salary: £16.90 per hour Start Date: ASAP End Date:10/04/2026 Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Calibration & Instrumentation Technician to provide onsite calibration and testing services. You will ensure all calibration activities-from initial request to execution and documentation-are carried out effectively and in compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation systems. Provide repair services and advice on maintenance routines for pneumatic and electronic instruments. Commission new equipment and modify existing systems. Advise users on instrument operation and process control systems. Implement routine maintenance procedures and suggest system improvements. Develop scopes and specifications for calibration requirements. Manage calibration documentation and maintain effective filing systems. Input calibration data into CMMS and maintain cGMP-compliant documentation. Handle change controls, log deviations, and manage offsite calibration logistics. Audit calibration processes and ensure regulatory compliance. Liaise with subcontractors and oversee calibration activities. Attend daily meetings to identify and implement process improvements. Maintain training matrices and support GMP training initiatives. Respond to Help Desk requests and perform risk assessments. Organise out-of-hours work and coordinate with site security and contractors.Candidate Profile Who You Are: Time-served apprenticeship or ONC-level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline. Proven experience in a similar technical role, ideally within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or GMP environments. Strong understanding of PUWER regulations, risk assessments, and Health & Safety legislation. Skilled in planned maintenance, contractor supervision, and customer problem resolution. Proficient in Word, Excel, and general IT systems.
