Band 5/6 CAMHS RMN – Tier 4 Inpatient Unit
Location: York & Surrounding Areas
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Locum – Ad-hoc Shifts | Block Bookings | Full-Time
Pay: Competitive Rates (Band 5/6) – Paid Weekly
Hours: Days, Nights & Weekends Available - you need to be fully flexable
Are you a dedicated CAMHS RMN with recent Tier 4 inpatient experience looking for flexible work in the York area?
We are recruiting Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) with experience in Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient settings to support local services in and around York. Whether you're Band 5 or Band 6, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded team, delivering essential care to children and adolescents in crisis.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
*
Deliver safe, evidence-based care to young people with complex mental health needs
*
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-dependency inpatient unit
*
Carry out mental health assessments, observations, and risk assessments
*
Administer medication in accordance with NMC guidelines - if required
*
Support safeguarding, care planning, and clinical documentation
*
Use de-escalation and therapeutic communication to manage challenging behaviours - experience supporting on a 1:1 up to 4:1 basis
✅ Requirements
*
NMC Registered RMN (Mental Health Nurse)
*
Minimum 1 year’s experience working in a Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient unit (within the last 2 years)
*
Strong understanding of adolescent mental health presentations (e.g., self-harm, eating disorders, trauma, psychosis)
*
Current PMVA/MAPA/Restraint Training (or willingness to update)
*
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
*
Flexible availability (days, nights, weekends)
*
Excellent communication and teamworking skills
