Position Overview: - We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our oncology and haematology services. This is a highly autonomous role, working closely with patients, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, provide expert advice, and act as a key point of contact throughout the cancer pathway.
Key Responsibilities:
* Acting as the primary clinical contact for cancer patients, offering specialist advice, support, and information.
* Coordinating personalised care plans in collaboration with oncologists, surgeons, and allied health professionals.
* Supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, ensuring care is holistic and patient-centred.
* Providing advanced clinical assessment and symptom management.
* Leading patient education initiatives and contributing to service improvement projects.
* Promoting best practice in line with national cancer care guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
* Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
* Significant post-registration experience in oncology, haematology, or a related cancer specialty.
* Evidence of advanced clinical skills and autonomous practice.
* Excellent communication and counselling skills, with the ability to support patients and families at difficult times.
* Strong organisational abilities and experience coordinating care pathways.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
