Job Title: Decorator Day Technician
Location: Rugby
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (42 hours per week)
Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Decorator Day Technician to join our Engineering team within the canning industry. This is a key role in maintaining and enhancing high-speed production equipment used in the decoration of metal cans. If you have a mechanical mindset, a passion for precision, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on canning and decorating equipment
Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed machinery to meet production and quality standards
Conduct daily checks and monitor equipment condition continuously
Execute planned and ad hoc maintenance, including height/diameter changes
Support installation, commissioning, and trials of new equipment
Maintain accurate records using maintenance systems (e.g., Apriso)
Rebuild unit spares and manage spare parts inventory
Provide training and technical support to team members
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Operate FLT and perform machining tasks (turning, milling, grinding) as needed
What We're Looking For:
Time-served apprenticeship in Engineering/Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience
HNC/HND qualification desirable
Electrical qualification is an advantage
FLT license or willingness to train
Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Flexible and willing to support other areas when required
Desirable Attributes:
Proactive and goal-oriented approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and precision
Willingness to travel to other locations if needed
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
