Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Capstan Setter Operator to join our Client specialising in the fasteners industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in capstan lathes, looking to work in a well-established and supportive manufacturing environment.
As a Capstan Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating capstan lathes to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting and operating capstan lathes to produce precision components
* Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
* Performing tool changes, adjustments, and routine machine maintenance
* Monitoring production for quality, accuracy, and efficiency
* Conducting in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment
* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Capstan Setter / Operator role
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
* Strong understanding of machining principles and quality standards
* Competent with measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
