ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced, compassionate and proactive Care Assistant to join a dedicated team, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in a Primary School setting. This role is vital in helping pupils to access learning, maintain comfort and dignity, and engage in daily school life.
About the Role
• As a Care Assistant your role will be to help support children with complex physical and medical needs and associated communication and learning needs.
• You need to be a pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable care assistant to join the team.
• This position would be to work with children from Early Years to Year 6.
• You will support pupils with their day-to-day personal care needs and work alongside other professional staff to further pupils’ personal independence and skills.

About you
To be considered for the role of Children’s Care Assistant you will:
• Have experience working with children with PMLD or complex needs.
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from medical or educational professionals
• Provide practical assistance in relation to other identified physical needs e.g. mealtimes, organisation of learning equipment.
• Recording and reporting on care needs.
• Assisting pupils in implementing their own personal care programmes during the school day, specifically in relation to practical support for; personal hygiene; toileting and continence training; and eating and drinking.
• Have experience of using a hoist.
• Have experience in a similar role.
• Have, or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service
• Able to obtain satisfactory references
