About the Home
We are seeking an passionate Care Home Manager to lead a small residential care home in Newport, South Wales, specialising in elderly care and dementia support.
Our client is dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centred care within a warm, safe, and homely environment. We are looking for a strong Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career or a passionate Care Home Manager who can inspire their team, maintain exceptional standards of care, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring residents enjoy the highest possible quality of life.
The Role
As Care Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring full regulatory compliance, excellent care outcomes, and effective business performance.
You will lead and support a dedicated care team, foster positive relationships with residents and their families, and create a culture focused on dignity, respect, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide visible and effective leadership across all areas of the home.
Ensure compliance with all CIW regulations and relevant legislation.
Maintain high standards of person-centred care for elderly residents, including those living with dementia.
Lead, motivate, recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
Manage occupancy levels and support local marketing initiatives.
Oversee budgets, financial performance, and resource management.
Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
Monitor and improve quality assurance systems and care outcomes.
Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are consistently met.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a residential elderly care setting.
Strong knowledge of dementia care and person-centred practices.
A proven track record of achieving positive regulatory outcomes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
Sound understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and quality standards.
Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and occupancy.
A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and enhancing residents' lives.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
Experience managing services for older people and/or individuals living with dementia.
