Care Services Team Leader  Location: Melton Mowbray - Leicestershire Client: Leicestershire County Council Sector: Adult Social Care Salary: £16.11 (Umbrella) Contract Type: Temp contract (6 months) Hours: Full time (37 hours) Role Overview: The Care Services Team Leader will support the management and delivery of high-quality Short Breaks, Supported Living, and Residential Care services in line with Leicestershire County Council’s Adult Social Care strategies and the Care Quality Commission’s Fundamental Standards. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks, and promoting service user independence, dignity, and choice across various service locations in Leicestershire. Key Duties May Include Assisting in the delivery of Community Life Choices, Short Breaks, Residential Care, and Supported Living services. Developing and maintaining local procedures and systems for compliance with legal and council standards. Ensuring safety and upkeep of service assets and buildings in accordance with Health & Safety and Fire Safety regulations. Managing rotas, staff deployment, and ensuring effective coverage for service delivery. Providing direct care and support, including personal care, first aid, and health tasks. Supporting service users with daily living, social activities, and community engagement. Ensuring high standards of service documentation, drug administration, and financial responsibility. Responding to complaints and incidents professionally and promptly.Key Responsibilities Recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management of care staff. Ensuring delivery of person-centred, outcome-focused care in line with care plans and risk assessments. Maintaining accurate and auditable service records and contributing to service quality audits. Building effective partnerships with internal teams, regulators, and external agencies. Conducting investigations and compiling evidence-based reports where required. Adhering to and promoting anti-discriminatory practices and safeguarding policies.What They're Looking For Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Willingness to undertake job-related training. Supervisory experience in adult social care. Conducting holistic assessments and person-centred planning. Using IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and care databases. Leadership & Management qualification. Experience commissioning adult social care services.Skills & Competencies Strong leadership, team motivation, and change management skills. Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure. Competency in risk assessment, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and promoting continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including negotiation and partnership working.
