Caretaker (ICM) – Backshift Role
Location: Innovation Centre Medway
Hours: 1pm to 5:30pm
Salary: £14,934 - £15,861 per annum
Closing Date: 28/04/2026
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to join an established and supportive site team at the Innovation Centre Medway. This is a permanent locum opportunity working a backshift pattern (1:00pm – 5:30pm).
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone practical, reliable, and customer-focused, who takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out general caretaking duties to maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented building
Support contractors and assist with day-to-day site operations
Set up meeting rooms and event spaces (furniture, equipment, and light cleaning)
Work closely with the morning caretaker, including daily handovers
Undertake health & safety responsibilities including Fire Warden duties
Act as a First Aider (training provided)
Secure the building at the end of each shift
Requirements
Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) and willingness to learn new systems
Experience working with customers or the public
Previous experience in soft FM (cleaning, waste management, general upkeep)
Willingness to undertake fire safety and evacuation training
