Job Description
Multi-Site Caretaker / Maintenance Operative – Cornwall & Devon
Location: Covering school sites between Redruth & Bodmin and Liskeard & Dartington -
2 positions required. One caretaker covering Redruth and Bodmin. Other covering Liskeard and Dartington.
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (working hours to be agreed)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time (plus agreed working pattern)
Start Date: ASAP
The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of a Multi Academy Trust for two Multi-Site Caretakers / Maintenance Operatives to join their Estates Team.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting multiple school sites, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure buildings and grounds remain safe, secure and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple school sites.
Undertake basic repairs including carpentry, plumbing, painting, decorating and general building maintenance.
Complete routine site inspections and health & safety checks.
Ensure school buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained.
Carry out minor repairs to doors, locks, fixtures and fittings.
Support with grounds maintenance and the upkeep of external areas.
Liaise with contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any defects.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
Previous experience in a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Facilities role.
Practical experience carrying out general maintenance and repairs.
A good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school sites.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
Right to work in the UK.
