Position: School Caretaker / Site Maintenance Operative

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Working Hours: Typically split-shift or early/late rota (e.g. 6:30am–2:30pm / 10am–6pm)

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Opening and securing the school premises each day

Performing general maintenance, basic repairs, and minor DIY tasks

Ensuring the school site is safe, clean, and fully operational
*
Conducting regular checks (fire alarms, security systems, heating, lighting, etc.)
*
Liaising with external contractors and reporting larger issues to the Site Manager
*
Supporting with porterage duties, setting up rooms for events, and managing deliveries
*
Maintaining outdoor areas, including pathways and car parks
✅ Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience in a caretaker or facilities role (school experience desirable)
*
Practical, trustworthy, and physically fit
*
Basic understanding of health and safety, COSHH, and manual handling
*
Able to work independently and as part of a team
*
Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the school
