Academics LTD is working with a well-respected primary school in Colchester that is looking to appoint a skilled and proactive School Caretaker to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term position with excellent benefits and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

Caretaker Responsibilities:
🔧 General site maintenance - ensuring the building and grounds are safe and well-kept
🧰 Carrying out basic repairs, decorating, and general DIY
🚪 Security - opening and closing the premises, managing keys
♻️ Health & Safety checks and compliance (fire alarms, emergency exits, etc.)
🌱 Grounds maintenance - tidying outdoor areas, minor gardening
🧼 Supporting with cleaning and hygiene as required
📦 Overseeing deliveries and liaising with contractors
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✔️ Previous experience as a school caretaker, site manager or similar facilities role
✔️ Strong practical skills - DIY, maintenance, and repairs
✔️ A proactive and responsible attitude
✔️ Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
✔️ Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
✔️ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
