Teaching Personnel are seeking a reliable, proactive, and dedicated Part-Time School Caretaker. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. across two sites in Kettering and Corby
Key Responsibilities:
Security:
Opening and locking up the school premises at the start and end of the day.
Securing all windows and doors and setting the alarm system.
Responding to out-of-hours alarm call-outs as required.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing small leaks, basic plumbing and carpentry).
Reporting major repairs and maintenance issues to the School Business Manager.
Conducting regular inspections of the premises to identify and address potential hazards or maintenance needs.
Health & Safety:
Ensuring the school premises and grounds are safe for all users.
Managing and monitoring the health and safety of the site, including fire safety checks and keeping records.
Gritting pathways and clearing snow/ice during winter months.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
Cleaning & Grounds:
Overseeing and/or assisting with cleaning tasks to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Managing the grounds, including litter picking, leaf blowing, and general tidiness.
Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and efficiently.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Proven experience in a caretaking, facilities management, or similar role.
Knowledge of basic maintenance, repairs, and health and safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual with a flexible approach to work.
A proactive attitude with the ability to identify and solve problems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
Experience working in a school or educational setting.
Basic IT skills.
Full UK driving license.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
