We are currently seeking a skilled 1st and 2nd Fix Carpenter to join a leading social housing contractor on an ongoing basis. The role involves a mix of planned and responsive carpentry works across occupied and void properties. A van is provided, and due to site requirements, a valid DBS check is essential.
Key Responsibilities of the Carpenter:
* Perform high-quality 1st and 2nd fix carpentry works, including doors, skirting, architraves, kitchens, and other internal fixtures
* Carry out repairs and upgrades to a high standard, ensuring compliance with site specifications
* Work across occupied homes with minimal disruption to residents
* Liaise with tenants, supervisors, and other trades on-site
* Maintain safe working practices and adhere to health & safety policies
Requirements of the Carpenter:
* Valid DBS Check (or willingness to obtain)
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry & Joinery (preferred)
* Proven experience in both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry, ideally within the social housing sector
* Own hand tools – power tools may be provided or supplemented
* Full UK Driving Licence (for van use)
* Asbestos Awareness (UKATA or IATP) – essential
