The Role Carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance carpentry tasks across campus buildings. Repair and install door hardware, access control systems, and fire-release mechanisms. Assemble and fit kitchen units, worktops, and general building fabric items. Support listed building works and ensure heritage assets are maintained properly. Provide input on small projects, estimates, and maintenance improvements. Join the on-call rota (one weekend in 4/5) with allowance plus overtime for call-outs. Work independently as well as part of a multi-trade team. The Person Recognised apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry. Skilled in maintenance carpentry for doors, fittings, and building fabric. Confident using woodworking machinery and handheld tools. Reliable, organised, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines. Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Full UK driving licence required. Flexible to join the on-call rota and work occasional unsociable hours.
