Job Description
Global FMCG manufacturer requires a Category Buyer. The role focuses on, tendering, negotiations and contract management. Applications from direct and indirect procurement professionals, welcomed.
The Category Buyer will join a successful and high-performing procurement team and will be responsible for providing strategic and operational procurement service to the business. The role represents a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Buyer looking to continue developing their career and gaining greater exposure to; negotiations, running tenders and managing suppliers/contracts.
Specific duties of the Category Buyer include:
Supply market intelligence activities across a range of spend areas; direct material for manufacturing, indirects and packaging
Participate in RFPs, tenders, and internal/external audits.
Lead cost-saving initiatives and negotiate contracts to drive value
Manage supplier relationships, holding regular performance and innovation review meetings.
Contract management and monitoring of contract performance
Administer purchase orders, resolve invoice discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.
Support process improvement initiatives in the procurement function and look to leverage procurement technology to drive efficiencies
Category Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
Previous procurement experience in a manufacturing or FMCG business
Ability to add commercial value to the team - negotiate contracts, manage tenders, supplier relationships and contracts
Excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement skills - understand internal requirements
Experience with procurement/e-sourcing tools, P2P, MRP,ERP etc.
Ambitious, proactive, positive and motivated self-starterBefore You Apply
