Salary: £40,000 per annum
Are you an experienced procurement professional with a background in the food industry? Our client – a well-established and growing food manufacturing company based in Redditch – is looking for a Category Buyer to join their team.
About the Role:
As Category Buyer, you will play a key role in managing the company’s inbound raw materials and supplier base. You'll be responsible for ensuring materials are purchased at the lowest possible cost while meeting strict quality standards and supporting production timelines.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled negotiator who understands the fast-paced demands of the food manufacturing sector and is confident managing supplier relationships and sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee purchasing of all raw materials to ensure production demands are met.

Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality.

Maintain and develop strong, long-term relationships with existing suppliers.

Identify and onboard new suppliers to support business growth and innovation.
*
Ensure procurement activity aligns with production schedules and inventory requirements.

Utilise ERP systems for efficient supply chain and procurement management.

Proven experience in a procurement or buying role – ideally within the food manufacturing industry.

Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

Solid understanding of ERP systems.
