Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to join a well-established procurement team in Peterborough.
You'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of raw materials and ingredients, managing supplier relationships and category strategies across the UK, Europe, US, and China. This is a strategic, stakeholder-facing role offering scope for development and impact.
Key responsibilities:
Manage categories including commodities, premixes, amino acids, phosphates, and limestone.
Develop and implement category strategies to deliver value and minimise supply risk.
Negotiate contracts and lead tenders using tools such as ScanMarket.
Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams, resolving supply challenges.
Monitor supplier performance and market trends to drive improvement and innovation.
About you:
Experienced in procurement or category management, ideally in raw materials, ingredients, or manufacturing/agriculture.
Strong negotiator with a track record of cost savings and robust contract management.
Able to manage multiple categories, prioritise effectively, and work collaboratively across regions.
Strategic thinker with a proactive, ambitious mindset.

£45,000 - £55,000
