Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Engineer – Newark – £55,000
We are seeking an experienced Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Engineer to join a Engineering Support team. The primary purpose of this role is to lead the application of condition monitoring techniques to improve understanding of equipment condition across the site. You will use this information to inform maintenance schedules, enhance equipment reliability, and optimise overall equipment effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Apply condition monitoring techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic thickness testing, and thickness measurements.
Act as the site subject matter expert for condition monitoring and provide guidance to engineering and maintenance teams.
Translate CBM outputs into actionable maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Manage vibration analysis (VA) programmes, either by performing VA routes or supervising others, and interpret results.
Oversee site lubrication programmes, including management of the lubrication technician.
Develop, review, and maintain condition monitoring routines and schedules.
Provide training and mentoring to maintenance technicians in applicable monitoring techniques.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CBM techniques and technologies and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Always demonstrate the highest health and safety standards and work collaboratively with other team members to carry out tasks safely and efficiently. Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Mechanically biased engineer or technician with apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
Minimum CAT-I Vibration Analysis qualified; CAT-II desirable or significant equivalent experience.
Experience working with heavy industrial equipment in a complex manufacturing environment.
Proven experience coordinating proactive maintenance work processes.
Experience delivering condition-based monitoring across multiple work areas, including operational and non-operational times.
Ability to manage complex and conflicting priorities in an industrial environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence delivery of standards.
Fluent English for verbal and written communication. Benefits
